It made enough at the box office to earn its spot on a list of highest-grossing films in 2022. Although received mixed reviews from critics, it became one of the highest-grossing films of 2022.

Hunt (2022) was first screened at the 74th Cannes Film Festival in July 2021 and was released theatrically in South Korea on August 3, 2022, earning 336,751 admissions and the number one position. It has received two nominations so far, including a Golden Crow award at the International Fantastic Film Festival in Brussels, to be held on September 10; Best New Actress (Shin Si-ah) at the 2022 Chunsa Film Arts Awards, to be held on September 30. Roundup (2022) is number one in South Korea's top-grossing films this year, grossing $100,471,409 in total, with 12,691,379 admissions, as of August 31st. The film was also Tom Cruises' first movie to pass $100 million on its opening weekend, and also the first film to pass $1 billion worldwide in ticket sales. Unlike most modern-day blockbusters, which generate the majority of their revenues in their opening weekends, the 1986 blockbuster Tom Cruise was a strong draw at the box office all summer long.
The two films opened in August to start off the season, and they are two of the highest-grossing films released in the country this year. With more movies set to come out during the latter part of the year, like Elvis, Avatar 2, and a number of Marvel films, it is difficult to say which movie will claim the crown of the top-grossing movie of the year. There are some big film releases that are still expected that could significantly alter this list. This seems like it will be a big year for Chinese movies, as The Lost City is the third-highest-grossing movie in the world for the foreign genre. Based on Aaron Blabey's bestselling kid's book series of the same name, The Bad Boys is the current top-grossing animated movie in 2022.
